My top 10 most played!

Hey guys! I hope you have all had a good week. Mine has been so busy but very productive (if you count baking and watching Harry Potter as productive :p).

I decided tonight that I was going to write about my top 10 most played on my iPod. My music taste varies really from, 'oh my god, listen to this!!' To 'erm, my friend downloaded this... I don't even know it erm...' But I am going to hide nothing from you are tell you all my most played..

So, at number 10 we have..
'Wherever you will go' I have the Charlene soraia version and I think it is so beautiful, I really love it. I it such an emotional song and her voice works so well with it! 'And I hope that someone out there will bring me back to you'

Number 9 is 'Demons' by imagine dragons. I am surprised with how high up this song is because I listen to it all the time. It was my driving force through my GCSEs and I think they are a really amazing band, I love them! The lyrics to this so are really great. My favourite line is 'I can't escape this now, unless you show me how'

At number 8 we have 'Toothpaste kisses' by The Maccabees. This song always remind me of Angus, thongs and perfect snogging which is a film based loosely on my life. I say loosely because I do not end up with a hot guy but I do end up going to a party dressed as a stuffed olive :p my favourite line from this is simply 'I'll be yours and you'll be mine'.

7 is the first from my favourite band, The Killers. 'Mr Brightside' is such an amazing song that even if you don't know the killers you must know this song. This live was absolutely incredible and I have so may memories with it. I love the video as well and the miss atomic bomb video that follows it just break me heart completely haha :p 'jealousy, turning saints into the sea...'

6 is another depressing song (noticing a theme I hope haha) 'Drugs don't work' by the Verve is one of the best songs ever in my opinion. It is completely heart breaking but such a lovely song. I really like the verve and this is my favourite song of theirs. 'And the drugs don't work, they just make you worse but I know i'll see your face again..'

5 is 'You belong with me' by Taylor Swift. I love Taylor so much and I think she is really talented. This song has always been one of my favourites of hers and again, it has the most adorable video (why do these this not happen in real life) I really like her RED album as well but sadly this is on my phone and not my iPod so it won't be appearing on the list! If it was though it would probably include most of them and if you are not a Taylor swift fan that may have been a little dull haha! 'Baby, can't you see you belong with me?'

At 4 we have 'Boston' by Augustana. This song is beautiful. It is one of my 'oh my god, you have to listen to this' songs. It tells a story that I think everyone can relate to at some point in there life. It talks about wanted to go somewhere and start again. His voice is epic and if you haven't heard this song you should give it a listen! 'I think I need a sunrise, I'm tired of the sunset'

Nearly there guys, keep going haha! In my top three we have...

'angels on the moon' by thriving ivy. I warn you in advance, this song is sad. Very sad. It is also really good and a song that if I was to make a sound track of my life I would definitely have to include somewhere in it. (A really dramatic part where I am storming off perhaps haha). It is the only song I know by the band and I really should listen to more because it is such a lovely song! 'Don't tell me if I'm dying, cos I don't want to know...'

At number two we have 'A dust land fairytale' again by the amazing band, The Killers. This song tells the song of Brandon's parents and the video (once again) is amazing. I think I like this band so much because the lyrics are so meaningful and have really deep meanings as well as been incredible songs! This one I particular is a really emotional song but it truly amazing. 'Now Cinderella don't you go to sleep, it's such a bitter form of refuge. Now don't you know the kingdoms under siege and everybody needs you...'

Finally, last but by no means least we have 'Viva La Vida' by Coldplay which is a song I don't think I could ever get bored of even if I tried. It fits so many situations for me and I think the band are amazing! This song is a mixture of all my favourite things: emotion, good lyrics, a good singer and of course... A bit of historical stuff thrown in :p what could be better? 'I used to role the dice, feel the fear in my enemies eyes...'
I don't think this is my favourite song of all time but, for me, it is the one that brings back the most memories. Good and bad and I think that is what makes a good song. A song that when you listen to it you can go back to the place you were when you first heard it or the person you were with. Music is really powerful and all of these songs have so many memories for me so thank you for putting up with my waffling haha!

I am quite relieved that none of these songs were embarrassing. I was going to do top 25 but that would include many Harry Potter parodies, the whole horrible histories sound track and a bit of lonely island... Probably best if I don't quote them :p

Pop us a tweet at @scoshgirls and let me know your favourite song or what you think of my most played. Also, if you like this and our other posts we would really appreciate a follow. Thanks guys!

Jamie's new photo shoot!

Got more pictures done by the lovely Mollie (facebook her on M J photography to see some of her amazing work) and I thought I would show you some of the pictures. I am going to be sending these off to the agencies so finger crossed! :p

I wanted to give some advice when it came to agencies! The first one I went to they gave me a photo shoot there and then and I had to pay £300 for them! This is completely wrong and a genuine agency would never charge you to be interviewed. If you are looking to go into modelling my best advice would be to get a portfolio done and send off pictures to different agencies. Don't worry about them been 'too good' for you. You might as well give it a go. The worst they can say is no and if they do you have lost nothing! :)
I am not a model myself (in case that isn't obviously from the awkward selfies and unattractive death stare haha) but if you are wanting to go into acting it is important that you get some good head shots. If you can get a professional photographer to do these on a plain background that would be great! You can also make yourself contact cards which photographers can make for you with all your information on them! Make sure you find the best deal and that you are going to a genuine photographer or agency.

I have already posted about this once but if you are interested in anything to do with the arts I would recommend you getting hold of 'contacts 2013' which is full of different contacts... surprise surprise :p

Good luck guys!

My favourite books!

My friend asked me the other day what I would like for Christmas. Now most people really struggle with saying what they want for Christmas when they are but under such pressure, myself on the other hand, would also chose a book. They are without a doubt one of my favourite things ever!!

For any fellow book lovers out there I decided to write a list of my favourite books or book series!
Of course, no list would be even worth looking at if it didn't include the Harry Potter series. They were my childhood and are such amazing books. The story line is incredible and if you haven't read them I would seriously give them a go! The first two or three are slightly childish but of course that is who they were aimed at. As you get further into the series though, it becomes darken and makes for a brilliant read!
Another firm favourite of mine is 'the hundred year old man that climb out of a window and disappeared' (yes, that really is the title) it is such a clever book that has you hooked from the beginning. I really loved it!
Next up, I really like 'The perks of being a wallflower' that has recently been made into a film. It is full of inspiring quotes and is a really touching short read (I read it in a day) that picks on some really quite serious themes!
'Birdsong' is a book that I am studying at sixth form at the minute and it is such a beautifully poignant book that focuses on the world. It shows the effects of war upon people are is a really heartbreaking yet truly amazing read. It is another book that you have to bear with until you get into it and maybe even have to read through twice to fully understand but I would definitely recommend it :) another book I have studied at school (now don't laugh) is 'Lord of the flies'. I found this book completely fascinating and it has so many underlying themes. If you were looking for a book that was a romance or something you didn't really have to think about I would recommend 'one day' or something similar but this is the perfect book if you want to analyse characters and situations.
My favourite author at the minute is Philippa Gregory who is the author of many historical fictions. I am a complete sucker for history and I am reading the cousins was series at the minute. It is amazing and although not 100% historically accurate, all of the books have I read by her have been amazing, the cousins war being my favourites. Of course, I am biased though as I absolutely love the War of the roses and Richard the third ect. :p

I know this is a fairly nerdy post but I hope that some of you are 'fan girls' like myself haha. Give me a tweet and let me know your favourite book and why or which fandoms you belong to!

My favourite electrical hair item!

Hello! This is just a short blog on my favourite Hair item which is electrical!

My all time favourite is.......
Nicky Clarke Desired Salon Professional Hair Straightener

Info:

  • 230c top temperature
  • Variable heat settings – adjust the temperature to suit your hair type
  • Auto shut off after 60 mins!

These are the product I always reach for. For curls, waves and straightening.
I literally love these and they do everything so well. These literally take 2 minutes to heat up too which is soooo good if you're in a rush or you're impatient (like me) I've had mine for 3 years+ and I love these!
I've tried GHD's and they to me, are alot worse than these. They ruin your hair more and don't hold as well as these.
£31.99 at boots at the minute saving £50.00
AMAZING XMAS PRESENT!

Abbie's Skincare Routine!

Hey guys! First of all - BIG apologies for not making a post in a while... My room has been re-done so I had to put my laptop and all of my things into storage! But I'm back!
This post is going to be on my skincare routine!

Products I use:

Moisturiser -
No7 Beautiful Skin Day Cream for Normal / Oily Skin OR Simple Kind To Skin Replenishing Rich Moisturiser 125ml.
The reason I have 2 different ones is because I do like to use the No7 in the morning for everyday moisturising after I have cleansed. and I then like to use a simple one at night/evening after I take my makeup off.
The difference between them both is the no7 one is a much more rich consistency for all day whereas the simple is a lot thinner however it is lovely!

Cleanser -
No7 Beautiful Skin Foaming Cleanser for Normal / Oily Skin.
I use this in a morning when I get up.
This is a lovely foam^ (duh) cleanser which wakes me up and makes me feel clean!

Exfoliator -
St Ives Blemish Fighting Facial Scrub.
I use this 3/4 times per week however I like to use this one in the shower! (if I don't use this I use my cleanser or just water)
I SWEAR by this product I absolutely love this! This smells so lovely which is a bonus and also does what it says. The little grains really get into your pores and make your face feel incredibly cleaner. I even have another 3 back ups of this!

Under eye roll on -
Simple Kind To Eyes Revitalising Eye Roll-On
I use this after I have cleansed and moisturised in a morning. This is such a lovely product which lasts AGES! And it really wakes me up.

I fully appreciate that everyone does their skincare differently, this is just how I do mine, I also understand you are supposed to use more than this (Tone etc) however my skin gets irritated easy so I stick to the basics!

Give us a tweet @scoshgirls and tell us your skincare routine!

Lip plumper, the best and worst!

You can spend a fortune on getting a good lip plumping gloss but so many of them don't work or have a horrible texture. I have tried a few and so I thought I would do a few of my least favourites and ones I love! These are just my opinions and some of my friends completely disagreed. If you have any opinions give us a tweet @scoshgirls

My least favourites include:
Victoria's Secret very voluptuous. I found this product thick and sticky and it had more of a painful burn for me! It is also quite expensive (my friend would kill me for saying this haha)
I am also not a huge fan of benefit lip plump. I am usually a massive fan of their products and I love love love their fake up but this is not for me. For me, it was more priming than plumping and it was very messy and dried my lips out!

On the other hand, I really like Smashbox o-plump intuitive lip gloss! I found this one was quite moisturising and had a nice tingling feeling rather than a pain. It is quite costly but I quite liked this product. I also like soap and glory sexy mother pucker gloss stick. Unlike the other gloss they do it is not sticky and is really easy to put on! They have a really nice colour as well and are not too costly so make for great Christmas gifts. They look similar to the most expensive chubby sticks :)

Christmas party make up!

With Christmas coming up I go for more exciting and festive looking make up, particularly for parties! These are some of my winter must haves!

1) I love love love false eye lashes for parties! I am awful at putting them on but with a lot of practise I managed to get the hang of it and they look really good. My favourites are from Illamasqua and you can get them in lots of different styles depending on how dramatic you want to go!

2) next up is the brown smoky eye look. This teamed up with a gold glitter looks so Christmasy without looking too over the top. My favourite at the minute is a set from Dior called the celebration collection. It is quite expensive but there is so much in it and is such good quality. Maybe put it on your Christmas  list!

3) red lips are my guilty pleasure. I feel naked without colour on my lips and as soon as the weather gets a little bit nippy I see it as an excuse to whip out the red lipstick! I absolutely love it and if you have never tried colour on your lips you should give it a go! I have lots of lipsticks I love but I tend to go for glosses or stains when it is a darker colour just to stop it looking as dry (also a lipstick is easy to mess up whereas the glosses tend to have easy to apply brushes). I get mine from Boots and they are all high street brands so you don't have the splash out for a great gloss!

4) a good contouring kit is essential for all year round! I use the sleek pallet from superdrug and is it amazing. There is a blusher, highlighter and contour powder so you can do your whole face! You should put the darker colour just under your cheek bones (don't put on too much but just enough to create a definition) then out the highlight on areas you want to make stand out so you cheek bones and down your nose to slim it out. Finally the blusher should go onto, what I call. The apple of your cheeks. If you are unsure of how to apply this seen us a tweet and I will upload a video @scoshgirls

5) finally, a glittery manicure! At the moment I have got deep purple on my nails with a glittering gold feature nail! It looks so festive and finishes off an outfit perfectly! No7 do good glitter polishes but OPI will always be my favourite nail policy brand. They go on so well and stay on until you take them off, they are amazing!

Remember over winter to take good care of your skin with moisturiser as the cold weather can make it really dry and sore! I also need to carry a lip balm around with me at all times to stop my lips going dry. This is especially important if you are wearing bright lipsticks as it will show off any dry skin you may have on your lips.

As you can probably tell I am feeling really festive! Got my first party this weekend so I will upload photos for you to see. Send us your Christmas party out fits and make up and remember to ask us any questions you may have. Thanks guys!

Easy Christmas truffles!

With Christmas coming up my house hold is looking very festive! We have just make the easiest truffles everrr and they taste so so yummy. If you want to add flavouring to them, for example baileys or mint you can add that to the mixture but this is our recipe..

You will need:
20 digestive biscuits
125g (4oz) butter
200g (7oz) condensed milk
2tbsp of cocoa
Grated chocolate or chocolate flavoured strands.

Put the digestive biscuits into a plastic bag and bash with a rolling pin unlike you have crumbs. Put the butter and condensed milk in a pan on a low heat until the butter melts and then allow to cool slightly. Add the biscuits and cocoa to the melted butter and stir to combined! AT THIS STAGE YOU CAN ADD THE FLAVOURING AND IF YOU WANTED TO USE ACTUAL CHOCOLATE YOU CAN DO THAT TOO!!
Form the mixture into truffles about the size of ping pong balls and roll them into the chocolate. Chill the truffles before serving.

This is just a really quick recipe and you can find so many online if you have more time that include this like cream and melted chocolate and they taste amazing but these are so easy! They make for lovely gifts for friends or teachers or just keep them for yourselves.
If you guys make any of these or have any recipes of your own you would like to share send them to us on twitter @scoshgirls and we will show off your pictures.

Enjoy guys!
Much love

Christmas gifts!

So, I have been Christmas shopping today and got a few gifts for people but I find it so so hard. I. Thought I would post all the presents I buy (apart from Abbie's of course haha) to give you guys some inspiration!
My favourite place for gifts this year is 'Boots' 3 for 2! You can get so much good stuff and it doesn't all have to be beauty things. I got my step dad a Nandos sauce set and another friend a cute jewellery box. If you were looking for beauty things, big brands like soap and glory do cutes cubes full of products and so I got in a few of them as well! They also do a different offer every week on a bigger gift and so I am waiting for the Laura Ashley one to buy my Mum :)
Next up, I have a friend that I don't see that often as she lives away and I find her really hard to shop for. We both have a love for books and next year in York (favourite place) there is a performance of Birdsong which I am studying this year and which is a brilliant book. I have booked tickets for that and we are going to make a weekend of it which I thought was a lovely gift for someone I don't see very often.
I was also thinking of creating a hamper for Mum of all of her favourite bits and bobs. This is a great gift idea because you can spend as much or as little as you want to on someone and it is really personal.
Another one of my friends and I have decided that we are going to make gifts rather than buy them and so I am making her a CD of all of our favourite songs and then filling a jar with the ingredients to make Christmas cookies and instructions. She loves baking and I thought this was a really fun idea.

Christmas shopping on a budget can be really hard but if you look for bargains and use discount vouchers or your NUS card you can make huge savings. Also, think about making personal presents for people which can be just as nice and save a lot of money! You could always suggest doing a secret Santa to cut down on the presents you have to buy or all go out for a Christmas meal somewhere which would be lovely!

1 weeks until we can start the advent countdown! Hope you are all feeling super festive.
I got my Christmas jumper for this year from Next for £30 but there are some lovely ones in Asda that are a lot cheaper. If you guys have any gift ideas or Christmas traditions tweet us @scoshgirls or drop us an email.

Lots of love

Abbie's Extension Babble!

Hello guys! My random post is going to be on my Lush hair extensions! (interesting) obviously.
I really have always wanted long long long hair! You see all of these "tumblr girls" with gorgeous long hair thats wavy and I wanted this badly.
Now growing your hair just takes so long especially my own as it takes soooooo long. I tried Boots skin, hair and nails tablets which improved my hair in general however it didn't really lengthen it. I also used Lee stafford hair length products which also didn't exactly lengthen the hair either.

So one day I just woke up and thought what the hell I'm just going to buy some extensions! I'd heard of Lush human hair ones before so I automatically went for these, they are also a reasonable price.

I got mine in Golden blonde and died them my own hair colour.
So yeah I'm still not sure how much I actually like them because I'm not used to them. But I've got to say they're like an accessory they completely change your outfit and your look!
If you have thin hair (like mine) they are harder to place in the hair and for them to stay so I upbrush the part I'm going to clip them too so it has texture to grip on!

Mine cost £49.99 with the contents of:
1 x 8" wide weft (4 clips attached) 2 x 6" wide weft (3 clips attached) 2 x 4" wide weft (2 clips attached) 1 x 3" wide weft (2 clips attached) 2 x 2" wide weft (1 clip attached)
Which is 100grams of hair! :-)
That's my awkward selfie with the extensions in (I curled them)

Jamie's favourites!

So, I have a pretty busy weekend this week! Last night I went out for a lovely meal with a few friends and today I am rehearsing for 'Goodnight, my love...' Which we are putting on in 17 days which is really scary! I am also in the process of making myself an costume to wear for it.
Also, this weekend, a friend of mine has decided to set up a netball team which I am hoping to be joining soon which should be really good fun!

Today I am blogging about my favourite things and hopefully I will be able to answer the tweets and emails you guys have been sending in!

So first up I was asked my favourite perfume. This one is easy for me, I absolutely love Taylor Swifts Enchanted Wonderstruck! It is perfect for day time and night time and has a sweet scent (to me it smells like vanilla and flowers). It also comes in a really pretty bottle so makes a perfect Christmas gift.
Next you asked me my favourite book which is really hard because I love so many! I am a huge Harry potter nerd and my favourite one of those would have the be the half blood prince but I also love all of Philippa Gregory's book (she write historical fiction) and I love Perks of being a wallflower. I also like to read plays and I think Journeys End is one of my favourites :)
My favourite music was also pretty tough because I have so many to chose from but my favourite band is The Killers. I went to see them last year and they were absolutely incredible! I also love a bit of Taylor Swift, I think she is so talented.
My favourite place has to be Sylvia Young theatre school in London. This is where I go during my holidays and it is the home of some of my best memories! I have met some absolutely incredible people there and I have never felt more comfortable in a place. It is amazing and I would recommend to anyone to go there.

Me and my lovely friends from Sylvia's :)

My 'couldn't do without' make up product is benefits fake up. I get really bad dark circles and this is my saving grace. I use it under my eyes every single day and because it is lighter that using a foundation it doesn't 'clog' it up and make the problem worse. It is amazing :D
My favourite shop is probably Zara. I think they do really unusual clothes, and because I like to dress quite smartly, it is perfect for me. It is a little bit expensive so I don't shop there all the time (most of my clothes are from New Look because you can get a student discount if you have an NUS card) but I like to treat myself now and again. I also really like urban outfitters and if you are stuck for buying presents for someone you should check them out because they do really good gifts for someone who has a certain I interest. For example is your friend loves hot men, or dogs, or hot men with dogs haha..
Finally, my favourite film and TV shows. My favourite film, without a doubt, is Forrest Gump. I have never seen my step dad cry at anything but this. It is such a wonderful film with incredible acting! My favourite TV show is harder because I love so many. I am a bit of a oncer (Once Upon a Time) and I love Friends. At the minute I am also rewatching my White Queen box set. As you know, I love history and the war of the roses is my favourite topic to study. I really like this show and I love Aneurin Bernard who plays King Richard. He is really talented and plays the role so so well!! Ooh and can't forget Horrible Histories... Now that is amazing!

Anyway, I have finished waffling now! I hope you all have a lovely weekend and remember to give us a follow on twitter and share out blogs @scoshgirls

Ooh, here is a picture of Aneurin. You are very welcome.

Ps. A massive well done to Abbie and the boots team for the money raises for Children in Need. It is such an amazing cause so well done girls :)

Abbie's Work Charity Event!

As we all know it was Children In Need yesterday and I work for Boots so we did an event to raise some money.

Me and my colleague ran the event at our store.
We set out a table with a "Colouring competition" basically colouring in a Pudsey for younger children who can win a prize of sweets!
And there was also a Raffle for everyone else. It was a pound to enter and could win a lovely prize of fragrance and designer bag.
We did our event from 9am until 2:30pm.

And we raised...
£158.47

This isn't a HUGE amount like some have raised but this was a very unorganised spontaneous event and every little helps!

:-) Abbie

If anyone else did any sort of fundraiser for children in need let us know! Give us a tweet @scoshgirls we'd love to hear your work.

Sixth form!

As some of you guys will know, York is one of my favourite places and on Friday we are going on a trip there to visit the university to hear a lecture from Peter Vardy (a famous philosopher) I am so so excited! I picked up one of his books today to do some wider reading and it is so interesting. Infact, writing this post is the first time I have out it down all day. If I have learnt anything over the past few weeks it is to do wider reading at a level. My teacher calls it the WOW factor and it is what makes your essays stand out from the rest. It also gives you a better understanding about the topic and has improved my answers massively! My top tips for coping its sixth form is to do little bits every night. You might not want to but it will be worth it in the end. If you just read through your notes you have made that day you have more chance of remembering it! If you can get your college to set up clubs or even create your own forum to discuss the subject that you are taking. It is so important that you put in the effort because you don't want to be wasting your own time and you might as well get the most from your experience! If you are looking at applying to uni then doing things that will make you stand out on your UCAS application are so important. Think of things that are relevant to the course you want to do (if you don't know check out the UCAS website and unistats for more advice) and then do them in your free time. For example I want to go into drama and English and I have written a play and worked within drama departments at secondary schools, I have also done work with a local MP and talking part in public speaking and competitions. It is so important to stand out and make them see all the reasons why you would be a perfect candidate for their course. I was given a inspirational talk by a boy in the year above and it really really motivated me and, although at the time I didn't want to hear it, I am so glad he has given me the advice and I thought I would share it with you guys :)

Also, I have had a rehearsal for a WW1 play that we are doing at school called 'Goodnight, my love...' I have written it myself and we are putting it on in three weeks which is super exciting/scary. All the money that we are raising is going towards poppy appeal so it goes to a great cause as well. I actually did an assembly today (to around 700 people, eek) on the First World War because I was lucky enough to be able to go on the battle fields trip in France. It was a really emotional assembly but I really enjoyed doing it and was so happy with everyone's feedback!

Exciting news of the day has been that my step mothers son is going to be a Daddy!! So happy for them both :)

I have also been asked to do a 'my favourites post' so I will be posting that within the next few days. If any of you have any questions you want an answer to either email us or send us a tweet @scoshgirls before tomorrow and we will answer it!

Hope you guys have all had a lovely day and we are now over half way through the week which is exciting! This weekend, Abbie and I are going to see if we can make the Scosh girls a logo!

Lots of love, Jamie-Lee x
ps. If any of you are interested, this is the book I was talking about. If this is a subject you are doing I would certainly give it a read :)

Abbie's Top 5 Perfume's!

Hello guys! Today I'm going to be doing a blogpost on my top 5!!!!!! Favorite perfumes. Emphasis on the 5, because I love alot of different perfumes so this was kind of tricky!

All of my descriptions are from my own personal opinion which could be different to others :-D

My 5th favorite perfume: DKNY - Pure
This perfume is a very scented one. Full of flowery scents, has hints of different flowers and also vanilla.

My 4th favorite perfume: Vicktor Rolf - Flowerbomb
Again, this is a very flowery perfume (hence the name) This is also very strong so you only need a little bit!

My 3rd favorite perfume: Ghost - Whisper
This perfume is very fresh! You know when you walk down the road past someone and you smell a whiff of their fragrance, this is one where you literally want to go and ask them what it is called!

My 2nd favorite perfume: Escada - Cherry In The Air
This one is very sweet and of course cherry scented. I hated this one at first, but I have grown to absolutely LOVE it!

My 1st favorite perfume: Emporio Armani - Diamonds
My all time favorite! Rose is the key to this perfume. Everything about this is wonderful and it smells so lovely and fresh!

From this, I have gathered I'm not the best at describing perfumes however I would recommend any of these! I go for fruity fresh scents hence all of these.

Jamie's audition!

So, I told you guys yesterday I and an audition today and finger crossed it went quite well. I ended up doing 'I see the light' from Tangled and Then we had to do a group dance piece and my monologue was Nell from 'Like dreaming, backwards'. This is a really deep monologue and is very dramatic so I contrasted it with Roxie's monologue from Chicago to show a wider range of skills.

A lot of people have been asking my my top tips for auditions and I think the main one is the be yourself. It sounds so cliched but at the end of the day you have nothing to lose, if they don't like you oh well just give it a go and have fun! You should always be prepared and I like to have read the play I am performing the monologue from so I can talk about why I chose it and the different depths of the character which is really important (this is especially important if the audition has an interview afterwards as they will ask about this). People don't want to see you fail so don't think that and if you don't get the part... Keep trying. I have been turned down no end of times and it sucks but it teaches you new things. It gives you more experience so next time you can be even better! Make sure you dress sensibly and don't wear too much make up, they want to see what they can do with you.

Good luck to anyone that has an audition and if you are struggling finding them I would suggest ordering yourself a book called contacts 2013 full of agencies for you the contact.

Jamie's Christmas dresses!

The coca-cola advert has been on therefore Christmas is nearly upon us. I have two parties this month and I have found some really lovely dresses to wear!

I tend to go for more unusual clothes (I am a sucker for charity shops too) but this year Topshop have got some really lovely dresses in!! The party dresses range from about £20-£200 and suit most occasions. I also found a lovely one in New look. I am not usually a fan of sequinned dresses but this one is like a rosey pink colour and is so lovely. It is £24.99 :)

If you like this style there is also a gold colour which would be lovely on a warm skin tone or someone with darker hair!

Remember as well if you are a student you can use your NUS card to get discounts in both of these shops and many many more. They cost £12 a year but mine has already paid for itself about 10 times over. To apply just google apply for NUS card and they will send it off to your school or college!

Hope you are all feeling as festive as I am. I can't wait!! :D

Abbie's Everyday Makeup!

This post is just going to tell you my everyday makeup routine :-)

1) Prime - first of all I prime my skin with Rimmel London Match Perfection Fix & Perfect Primer (£6.99, Boots) This step is key, to a great complexion. Primer evens the skin tone and also brightens your skin ready for your foundation. This also makes the foundation last longer.

2) Foundation - next, I use my real techniques expert face brush to apply my Mac Pro Longwear Foundation (£25, Debenhams) I use this foundation because it is medium to high coverage that lasts 15 hours! (I agree with this claim) I will always use this one as it makes my skin look bright!
3) Under eye-concealing - I then use Collection Illuminating Touch Brightening Concealer (£4.99, Boots) This is the perfect colour that matches well with my Mac foundation. However it is pink under toned if you have a pale foundation!

4) Eyebrow - MUA Eyebrow Pencil (£1.00, Superdrug) & MUA Pro-Brow (£3.50, Superdrug) These are the perfect colour for my face/hair colours and the pigment is really great!

5) Eyeshadow - I then use my Clinique palette in the mink duo (this was a present so I don't know how much this was) Again, pigment is really great and the colours are so natural and matte!

6) Mascara - I curl my eyelashes with an eyelash curler. To then go onto using my fave mascara Loreal Volume Million Lashes (£10.99, Boots) this is perfect. No clumps and goes on very well.

7) Contouring - I then contour a tiny bit with my Collection Shimmer Glow on my cheek bones to highlight the side and give my face definition.

8) Powder - I finish off my look by setting my face with my No7 Creme Touch Foundation (£8.50, Boots) I cannot fault this powder. This touches up my face to make me look more matte (which is the look I want to achieve) and stops shine breaking through.

9) Lipstick - Final step, I use my Rimmel Kate Moss Lipstick (£5.49) Mine is a very nude pink just to give a nice bit of colour to my lips! Very moisturising!

And that brings us to the end. This is how I do like to do mine and I appreciate how other people might like to do theirs different... However that is mine!

This weekend!

I have been a very busy girl this weekend! Basically, I have an audition tomorrow and I have been trying to find a song to sing which has not been very successful. I have written a few mash ups but none of them really suit the musical we are doing so I will have to keep looking, wish me luck!

I am also applying for my NYT audition tonight which is super exciting so I need to find myself a good monologue to do. I start quite early because I like to read the play and understand the character before performing it :) also, I realised this weekend I have less than two years at school before I leave for university (scary!!) I have looked at a few and I think I am going to audition for RADA and see (no harm in trying as they say haha)

Hope you have all had a lovely weekend and I will post again later. Hopefully by then I will have a song sorted haha!

Here is another picture from my last photo shoot!!

Also... I was flicking through tumblr to find my school. I will be somewhere in the picture haha

York!

I went to York the other week for my birthday and I had the loveliest time! I had never been before but it is so beautiful. I am a sucker for vintage shops and it is full of them. They have a shopping place called the shambles and honestly it is the cutest place in the world. When we went it was throwing it down with rain and if a place still look pretty in the rain then you know it is good :)

We also went on a ghost walk which was the most hilarious thing ever! I was picked out as a 'volunteer' (of course) and I have never been so scared in my whole life! I would definitely recommend going on one of you are in an historic place because they are such a laugh. If you get a group of you like we did it just ends up being everyone laying at every other. We also went to Betty's tea rooms which I loved. It was the first time I have ever had a macaroon so, inspired by the great British bake off, I got my self a few and they were amazing, ever Mary Berry would have approved.

I am seriously considering York for university now so I think if I decide to do English and history that is where it will go cos there is so much on the war of the roses there which is my favourite part of history :)

Ps. If you ever go stop in a hotel called Marmadukes. It is like a boutique hotel and it was gorgeous and they are so so lovely there!

Abbie, all about me!

Hello guys!
My name is Abbie, I'm the other half Scosh Girls!
I'm 17 year old girl who works for Boots as a healthcare trainee and I'm no7 trained! I would like to either go into the makeup career in the future or work for Capital FM.

I have unhealthy obsessions with: vimto, make up, chicken, clothes, lucy spraggan, sleeping with sirens, sleep and clash of clans.
Pretty cool I know.

Me and Jamie are the two best friends that anyone could have, anyone could have, anyone could have.... Yeah, the idea of this blog together was all down to Jamie, so full credit goes to her *round of applause*
Love our Jamie to pieces and I hope our long term ambition is going to be fulfilled.

So yeah, I hope you enjoy our babbling!!

Abbie! :-)

Last weekend!

After going to my friends surprise birthday party on Friday night, Saturday ended up being a day in bed  researching universities and song writing ready for my audition on Monday for this years school musical! I also need to look for some monologues for my NYT audition which is super exciting. However, that evening I decided to go to a Halloween party with my family which was actually really lovely! Due to the fact I didn't know I was going until about half an hour before my outfit was pretty make shift but I went as a leopard. (If you want to know how I did this just email us and I will get back to you) here is a picture from the night, I was very excited as you can tell by this hilarious selfie hahaha!!  (Clearly at the time I thought I looked good)

Hey guys!

Hey guys!
We are Jamie-Lee and Abbie and we are the Scosh girls. Scosh coming from when we were only about 7 and decided to create our own fashion brand using tissue paper and a bratz doll haha. It was of course very successful, as you can imagine but now, 10 years on, we have decided to create a blog, inspired by YouTubers and many beauty bloggers!!

We will be writing about anything that takes our fancy from fashion and make up to embarrassing stories and work! We hope you enjoy our blog, thank you so much for reading it.

Lots of the love the Scosh girls, Jamie-Lee and Abbie xx
