What I am doing?!

Jamie, what are you going to do of acting doesn't work out?

Jamie, where is your blog actually going to lead you?

Jamie, how are you going to afford to live in London?

Jamie, well you get the picture..

I am not at all ashamed to say that is answer to these questions is 'I have absolutely no idea'. I used to stress out so much about knowing exactly what I was going to do but it the end it proved to me to be pretty pointless. Don't get me wrong I love a good plan but life has its way of surprising us and, in the words of Harry Potter 'how many times have our plans actually worked, Hermione?' (Ditch hermione and this quote works.. Although this might not be it exactly.. You get the jist). Over the past few years what I am going to do has changed dramatically. I have always wanted to be an actress but how I am going to get there varies. In fact, over the past few weeks and even days this has changed!

My friend messaged me today with her new life plan! She asked 'what do you think?' And to be honest with you my response was about as clear as mud because you have to do what makes you happy at the time. You can't look back with regrets because at the end of the day, at some point, that was exactly what you wanted and every door you open leads you down a different path. That path might be not what you planned but who is to say that path won't be even better!?

I think now is a perfect time to whip out my favourite quote:

If the window opens and the prospect pleases, float through it... That window might never be open again'

If you like the look of something or think you fancy having a go, just do it! Don't worry if it doesn't fit in exactly with 'the plan' just have fun and take risks.
Please note, I am not suggesting you drop out of school on a whim, leave home, jump on a train and live in the tropical rain forests, that might be a little extreme.. But if there is a new club opening up or a chance to apply for something, perhaps a part time job or a university open day.. Why not give it a go?! Remember it is okay to say 'I don't know'. Remember what John Lennon said..

Good luck!

Weekend ramble.. // a week with 'Scosh girls'

You guys have been asking for more day to day posts and lots of bloggers post about exciting things they have done during the week. Unfortunately, I have found the reason why I don't write more of these posts.. I don't do anything exciting haha!

Next week though should be a fairly exciting week for me so, as these thing are very rare, I thought I better write about it. I am taking AS drama and so I have got a lot of practicals and workshops next week. My drama teacher is arranging for an actor to spent 2 weeks with us preparing us for our exam and she is also setting up a physical theatre workshop which is going to be amazing! Grease rehearsals are well under way and things are going really well. During this week we will be putting the whole thing together for the first time which is super exciting. Frenchy is such a fun role to play as well :D

I have a Valentines day with my friend, Jess haha! We are going to Manchester for the day to shop and  buy lots of new clothes. When I say new clothes I mean food. Food and coffee.

My NYT auditions is coming up soon so I am practising that. Fingers crossed I will get in this year! If so, this summer is going to be amazing. We are booking a holiday for the first few weeks and then I will either be going to NYT or the Sylvia Young summer workshops. Either way I will be reunited with the 'London clan' (I pity anyone within a two mile radius)

Do not be alarmed though people. I know this week sounds fairly exciting but your usually nerdy, boring Jamie has not gone far. I will obviously still be finding time to watch Sherlock and read at least 700 books haha :p also, Abbie and I are planning to record a new video this week so keep your eyes open for that!

I will be documenting my week in pictures this week for 'A week with Scosh girls' so keep visiting the blog to see what we are up to! :)

Real techniques // review

Hey guys! I feel like I haven't posted in ages. Today, I decided to write about my new favourite thing, my 'real techniques expert face brush'.

I am not going to lie, I have never been a brush person (I tend to just use my fingers) but so many people are raving about these brushes, I had to give one a go. I got myself the foundation brush from Boots for £9.99 which I didn't think was too bad considering the fact I also collect my points.
The brush itself is really firm and broad making it perfect for applying liquid foundation. It takes a little longer to apply than just using your fingers but the results are so much better. I use a sort of 'buffing' technique which gives a really good finish. The over all look created is a lot more natural and even. My only negative would be the fact I seem to have to use more foundation now I am using them. It isn't considerably more (2 big pumps instead on my usual 1).

It is a really good quality brush and none of the bristle have fallen out on me which most brushes do! I will definitely be getting myself some different sorts of these brushes. I know they do a really good set in boots (I think it is £21.99 but don't hold me to that haha) so I might treat myself!!

It is important with brushes that you make sure you wash the regularly. My friend suggested just using a baby shampoo and leaving them to dry which I think I will give a go in a week or so. If you have any real technique brushes, let us know! @scoshgirls

Also, exciting life news (well, exciting for me haha :p) I have applied to some more agencies and production companies today and, hopefully, I will get a reply soon! We will also soon be review some products from The Argan Company who have been kind enough to send us some of their products which is really exciting news :)

Hope the new year is treating you well!!

Christmas Day #16!

Today is meant to be Abbie's day but she has lost all power so sends her apologises! Unfortunately this means you are stuck with me haha, poor you!
I decided today I would write about my favourite memories using pictures I have taken recently!

Right so picture one is a picture of me in London! I was at SylviaYoung's Theatre School which I go to most holidays and it is my second home, I absolutely love it! This picture was taken when I sept the evening with one of my best ever friends, Ben! We had such a lovely evening :) I don't get chance to see my friends from London as often as I would like but they are some of my best friends ever!! Maria is coming down for next year which I am so so excited for :D

This next picture comes from my 17th birthday party meal. There was about 20 of us that went from school and we had such a lovely evening! I am with my friend, Tal here who only started at our sixth form this year! We went to Prezzo which is a really nice place to go as a group :) as you can see by my completely cleaned plate, I rather enjoyed the food :p

Aw, this is one of my favourites! This is a few of my friends and I at our prom in July! We had it at a place called to White Heather and before we went all met at Hannah's house (the girl in greeny blue) for pre-prom champagne. It was a really lovely evening. Infant, I loved the whole day. I have my hair and eye lashes done and was pampered all day which was great haha! Getting my dress sorted was a pretty stressful experience and I ended up going for the complete opposite to what I thought but I really liked it! (I am the one in blue at the front). In this picture, despite my smiling face, my poor feet have never felt such pain :p I managed to keep them shoes on all night, so proud!

Finally, this picture was taken this Halloween! It was a bit of a spontaneous party so. Didn't really have long to plan an outfit and ended up borrowing most of Jess's wardrobe and went as a leopard! The make up was so easy to do and all I needed was black eye liner, brown and gold eye shadows and golden glitter, which I had on me! For my hair I just back combed it really really big and used a lot of hair spray so it looked like a mane haha! It was a pain to get out the next day but it was definitely worth it for such a good night :D

So that has been my last few months or so in pictures! Please don't judge my cheesy grin in the last picture, I was very excited... Clearly :p hope you have all had a good Monday! Wow, that was an oxymoron if I have ever heard one!
If you have any pictures send us a tweet @scoshgirls

What is your favourite ever memory?

My top 10 most played!

Hey guys! I hope you have all had a good week. Mine has been so busy but very productive (if you count baking and watching Harry Potter as productive :p).

I decided tonight that I was going to write about my top 10 most played on my iPod. My music taste varies really from, 'oh my god, listen to this!!' To 'erm, my friend downloaded this... I don't even know it erm...' But I am going to hide nothing from you are tell you all my most played..

So, at number 10 we have..
'Wherever you will go' I have the Charlene soraia version and I think it is so beautiful, I really love it. I it such an emotional song and her voice works so well with it! 'And I hope that someone out there will bring me back to you'

Number 9 is 'Demons' by imagine dragons. I am surprised with how high up this song is because I listen to it all the time. It was my driving force through my GCSEs and I think they are a really amazing band, I love them! The lyrics to this so are really great. My favourite line is 'I can't escape this now, unless you show me how'

At number 8 we have 'Toothpaste kisses' by The Maccabees. This song always remind me of Angus, thongs and perfect snogging which is a film based loosely on my life. I say loosely because I do not end up with a hot guy but I do end up going to a party dressed as a stuffed olive :p my favourite line from this is simply 'I'll be yours and you'll be mine'.

7 is the first from my favourite band, The Killers. 'Mr Brightside' is such an amazing song that even if you don't know the killers you must know this song. This live was absolutely incredible and I have so may memories with it. I love the video as well and the miss atomic bomb video that follows it just break me heart completely haha :p 'jealousy, turning saints into the sea...'

6 is another depressing song (noticing a theme I hope haha) 'Drugs don't work' by the Verve is one of the best songs ever in my opinion. It is completely heart breaking but such a lovely song. I really like the verve and this is my favourite song of theirs. 'And the drugs don't work, they just make you worse but I know i'll see your face again..'

5 is 'You belong with me' by Taylor Swift. I love Taylor so much and I think she is really talented. This song has always been one of my favourites of hers and again, it has the most adorable video (why do these this not happen in real life) I really like her RED album as well but sadly this is on my phone and not my iPod so it won't be appearing on the list! If it was though it would probably include most of them and if you are not a Taylor swift fan that may have been a little dull haha! 'Baby, can't you see you belong with me?'

At 4 we have 'Boston' by Augustana. This song is beautiful. It is one of my 'oh my god, you have to listen to this' songs. It tells a story that I think everyone can relate to at some point in there life. It talks about wanted to go somewhere and start again. His voice is epic and if you haven't heard this song you should give it a listen! 'I think I need a sunrise, I'm tired of the sunset'

Nearly there guys, keep going haha! In my top three we have...

'angels on the moon' by thriving ivy. I warn you in advance, this song is sad. Very sad. It is also really good and a song that if I was to make a sound track of my life I would definitely have to include somewhere in it. (A really dramatic part where I am storming off perhaps haha). It is the only song I know by the band and I really should listen to more because it is such a lovely song! 'Don't tell me if I'm dying, cos I don't want to know...'

At number two we have 'A dust land fairytale' again by the amazing band, The Killers. This song tells the song of Brandon's parents and the video (once again) is amazing. I think I like this band so much because the lyrics are so meaningful and have really deep meanings as well as been incredible songs! This one I particular is a really emotional song but it truly amazing. 'Now Cinderella don't you go to sleep, it's such a bitter form of refuge. Now don't you know the kingdoms under siege and everybody needs you...'

Finally, last but by no means least we have 'Viva La Vida' by Coldplay which is a song I don't think I could ever get bored of even if I tried. It fits so many situations for me and I think the band are amazing! This song is a mixture of all my favourite things: emotion, good lyrics, a good singer and of course... A bit of historical stuff thrown in :p what could be better? 'I used to role the dice, feel the fear in my enemies eyes...'
I don't think this is my favourite song of all time but, for me, it is the one that brings back the most memories. Good and bad and I think that is what makes a good song. A song that when you listen to it you can go back to the place you were when you first heard it or the person you were with. Music is really powerful and all of these songs have so many memories for me so thank you for putting up with my waffling haha!

I am quite relieved that none of these songs were embarrassing. I was going to do top 25 but that would include many Harry Potter parodies, the whole horrible histories sound track and a bit of lonely island... Probably best if I don't quote them :p

Pop us a tweet at @scoshgirls and let me know your favourite song or what you think of my most played. Also, if you like this and our other posts we would really appreciate a follow. Thanks guys!
